Using Hyperspectral Data to Map Ages of Lava Flows

A collaboration between the

Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at BSU and

Department of Geology at ISU.

The maps of the lava flows at Idaho's Craters of the Moon National Monument need to be updated. Hyperspectral data from AVRIS exisits for this region. Pattern Recognition techniques will be used to determine the ages of the different lava flows and to build a map of the region.
