Boise State is uniquely positioned in Idaho as a metropolitan university empowered by a dynamic, high-tech economy in one of the most attractive regions in the nation. We are Idaho's largest university, with about 18,600 students. Our research attracted a total of $24.2 million in grants last year.
The university opened a $14 million Interactive Learning Center in 2007. This four-storey, 54,000-square-foot building includes a 200-seat lecture hall, 12 standard classrooms, a multi-media lab, multi-purpose/distance learning classroom, visualization classroom, experimental classroom, and numerous study lounges. In addition to academic functions, the ILC also includes a food-services area, a convenience store and a coffee bar featuring a cyber cafe/study lounge. A wi-fi network for wireless Internet connectivity serves the entire building.
Living in Boise
Situated less than a mile from Boise’s bustling downtown, BSU is located on a 175-acre campus in the middle of Idaho’s largest city and state capital. The main campus borders the Boise River with a backdrop of foothills that provide unlimited year-round recreational opportunities for skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing. More than one million people visit the campus annually for cultural, athletic and entertainment events. On campus, six residential halls house more than 1,100 students in shared and single rooms. Near campus, five university-owned apartment complexes have mostly one- and two-bedroom units that offer various amenities.
