Our research group is inherently multidisciplinary and predominantly comprised of undergraduates with selected graduate students and staff. Performing research to educate ourselves and those around us, to learn via discovery and to apply what we learn to our academics and beyond has been a common theme.
Research is a demanding endeavor with many time-intensive obstacles. Our approach is to perform research in teams thereby distributing the tasks in order to overcome the challenges; we can then share in the rewards of our accomplishments and the dissemination of our research discoveries.
Interdisciplinary collaboration has progressed towards a more communal or collective research premise in which a core group of faculty and staff have come together to share ideas, students and resources. The key to this methodology is extensive communication and interaction from the faculty and thereby the students; it has led to inspiring interaction, growing successes and continuing perseverance.
