Band Diagram Program - Linux Install

The Multi-Dielectric Energy Band Diagram Program can be made to run on Linux using Mono. You can download the program below.

Installation

Linux Install Instructions:

1. Make sure mono is installed. It is already a standard part of Linux. To add mono, use the add/remove software option from your Linux distribution. Under Fedora, use the following command as a short-cut (use apt-get for Ubuntu) yum install mono*
2. Download and unzip the Band Diagram Program using the link above.
3. Move the metals.dat, dielectrics.dat, and semiconductors.dat files to your home folder. If you don't do this when the Band Diagram Program starts it will not find these files and will make empty replacements. You will then need to add the materials parameters for the metals, dielectrics, and semiconductors that you want to use.
4. Start the Band.exe file and when propted what program to use to open the file, chose Mono. Linux should remember your choice so you will only have to do this once.
