Mark DeBeliso, PhD

Dr. Mark DeBeliso joined the faculty at Boise State University in the summer of 2000. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University in 1985 and a Ph.D. in Biomechanics from Oregon State University in 1998. His dissertation explored the effectiveness of lumbar support belts with respect to reducing stresses encountered by the lumbar spine during stoop type lifting.

Previous work experiences include instructing classes at Oregon State University, working as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft, Cubic Defense Systems, Hercules Aerospace, and as a medical equipment consultant.

At Boise State he teaches courses in measurement theory, statistics, research design, and biomechanics. His research interests include mechanics of sport movements and work tasks as well as strength/power training for all walks of life.
