Minor

A Civil Engineering Department minor is a concentration in civil engineering courses for students who are not majoring in civil engineering. This minor allows students to obtain recognition for their work in civil engineering. It meets most of the background courses required of non Civil Engineering majors when seeking a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering.

To obtain a minor in Civil Engineering, students must complete 19 credits of Civil Engineering courses as described below:

   CE 320, 321 Principles of Environmental Engineering + Lab
   ENGR 330, 331 Fluid Mechanics + Lab
   CE 340, 341 Engineering Properties of Construction Materials 
       + Lab
   CE 352 Structures I
   CE 360, 361 Engineering Properties of Soils + Lab
   CE 370 Transportation Engineering Fundamentals

 

10–12

 Upper-division Civil Engineering courses

7–9

Students will also be required to take any prerequisites for the courses listed for the minor.
