Applicants must have at least one (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) degree in Civil Engineering, and in all cases a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering or a discipline closely related to Environmental Engineering, as well as the ability to perform high-quality research as evidenced by acquisition of external funding and peer-reviewed publications.

Thompson Engineers, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer to join our practice in transportation engineering. We have been practicing in Southwest Idaho for 14 years, providing transportation engineering services to public agencies and private clients.
The ideal candidate would have a master’s degree in transportation engineering with experience in computer applications of highway capacity analysis and an understanding of traffic impact study procedures. Transportation computer modeling skills are highly desirable. A candidate with a bachelor’s degree, or working toward that degree would be acceptable if elective coursework in transportation engineering is included in his or her studies. Professional experience is a plus. Spreadsheet skills and good technical writing skills are a must.
