Workshop Topics

Session I - The Past
Becoming a leader is a lifelong journey which begins with understanding self. This will be a session filled with self discovery and disclosure. Assessments will focus on personal mastery and communication skills. Activities challenge participants to reflect upon the traits unveiled by the process and develop a true sense of self.

Session II - The Present
The second step in the leadership journey focuses on Team. Each participant will develop a profile of behavioral traits and gain an understanding of the impact of behavior on team dynamics. Building upon the awareness generated during the first session, students will develop a personal tool kit for positive interaction. Team building challenges will provide opportunities for participants to reinforce the lessons learned and to contemplate the manner in which they conduct themselves. Emphasis will be placed on effective communication, team interaction, trust and identification of barriers to exceptional team performance.

Session III - The Future
In the final step of the leadership journey, participants develop a set of highly effective practices they can implement into their daily lives. Students will define their vision for the future and design the process to achieve these goals. Students are equipped with a plan that maps success to which each can aspire, a deeper understanding of self, enhanced teamwork capabilities and a heightened awareness of the global environment. Each participant will leave the program willing and able to face tougher leadership challenges.

Additionally, The Department of Construction Management will accommodate individual corporate requests for conducting onsite worskshops.
