Bio
Dr. Mandar Khanal joined the Department of Civil Engineering in August, 1997. Dr. Khanal earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Irvine, and his MS degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He is a registered civil engineer in California and Idaho. Prior to coming to BSU, Dr. Khanal was employed as a Research Associate at Louisiana Transportation Research Center, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.;
Dr. Khanal has many years of professional engineering experience. One such assignment was at the California Department of Transportation in Orange County, California, where he was involved in two field deployment projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration. He served as the Chair of the Technical Review Team for the Mobile Video Surveillance & Communication Project.;
Dr. Khanal is responsible for the Transportation Engineering Program at BSU and continues to develop new courses in this area. He is also involved in various research projects funded primarily by the Idaho Transportation Department. ;
