Computer Science
Program Educational Outcomes

The computer science program will demonstrate that its graduates:

  • Are familiar with foundational areas of computer science to include software engineering, the design and analysis of algorithms, operating systems, computer architecture, and programming languages.
  • Are familiar with mathematical foundations of computer science.
  • Have an understanding of ethical issues and professional responsibilities in computing.
  • Have critical thinking and problem-solving skills which enable them them to define and solve a wide variety of computing problems.
  • Have experience with and are able to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Have experience with the use of modern software tools.
  • Understand the rapidly evolving nature of computer science and have the ability to maintain currency in their discipline.
  • Can communicate effectively including preparing technical reports and giving oral presentations.
