Our close proximity to Boise’s hi-tech industry allows faculty and students to interact with a growing number of local software-development companies. This provides a rich environment for our students with year-long internships, part-time employment and significant opportunities to collaborate in the industrial setting. In fact, at least 80% of our students participate in paid internships at local software companies. This experience allows students to “hit the ground running”, making them invaluable assets for prospective employers.
“We have been commissioned to fundamentally change our approach when it comes to educating and preparing computer science students and software programmers. Boise State is in a truly supportive role in this challenge and we are preparing a plan to increase computer science research, strengthen ties with industry and support workforce development.”
- Boise State President Bob Kustra
