Summer Workshops

The Computer Science department at Boise State University is involved in a number of great workshops for youth this summer. Check out the information below to learn more and register quickly as registration fills up quickly. Check back near the end of April for a comprehensive list of offerings!

  • E-Camp (Grades 9-10)
    Dates: Friday through Saturday, June 3-5, 2018
    Time: TBD
    Location: Engineering Building, Boise State University
    Cost: $250 ($300 after May 1), scholarships available
    Registration Deadline: May 1, 2018
    Enrollment is limited to 40.
    Description: Students who are currently in 8th or 9th grade can use hands-on activities and projects involving self discovery, cooperative learning, critical thinking, and problem solving while living on campus in a college dormitory. All food, housing and recreational activities are provided.

  • E-Girls (Grades 9-10)
    Dates: Friday through Saturday, June 8-9, 2018

    Location: Engineering Building, Boise State University
    Cost: Free
    Registration Deadline: May 1, 2018
    Enrollment is limited to 50.
    Description: e-Girls is a free overnight program for girls currently in 9th and 10th grade. Workshops led by Society of Women Engineers professionals and college students may include: Biomechanics of Footwear, Packaging and the Environment, Virtual Worlds with Alice, Solving Forensic Mysteries, Physics of Rock Climbing/Rope Walking, A World of Career Choices, and more!

  • GenCyber Cybersecurity Summer Camp (Girls Only)
    Dates: Monday through Friday, July 9-13, 2018
    Time: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
    Location: City Center Plaza, Boise State University
    Cost: Free
    Registration Deadline: May 17, 2018
    Enrollment is limited to 40.
    Description: Computer Science faculty and staff will introduce and cement knowledge of cybersecurity first principles, increase the curiosity of the participants about the field of cybersecurity, encourage participants to seek further education in cybersecurity and motivate participants to seek a career in cybersecurity.
