8/91 – 8/96 Chair of Construction Management & Engineering Department with 7 engineering faculty, 4 construction faculty and over 700 students.

8/79 – 8/91 Construction Management Program Coordinator & professor:
Started teaching the first courses and built the program in record time to be accredited in 4 years. See attached list of Construction Management Program achievements

Faculty advisor to the AGC Student Chapter ie Construction Management Association which has won numerous local, regional and national awards for outstanding achievement. See the attached list.
This group consistently completes 15 to 20 projects or activities per school year with a budget of approximately $16,000 per year, over half of which is earned and the remaining amount comes from donations.

Responsible for the company’s engineering, architectural design and construction including the management and general contracting for Terteling’s own construction forces.

Set up the organization for the company to do their own contracting on development projects, as well as bid competitively out side construction work.

Engineer responsible for finalization & “selling” of the Dworshak Powerhouse project, negotiating and settlement of outstanding claims.

Office engineer responsible for purchasing, awarding subcontracts, contract administration, supervising cost engineers & draftsmen

Claims engineer: estimating and negotiating claims & change orders on the Dworshak Dam project.

6/66 – 9/69 Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. Salt Lake City, Utah & Western States
Field engineer responsible for project planning, scheduling & subcontract coordination. Performed precision surveying & layout work.

Foreman of paint crew, materials expediting and equipment operations.

Designing and preparing drawings for foundations, steel structures and piping.

Enjoy boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, construction & remodeling of my own projects.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM ACHIEVMENTS

Program Director and started teaching the first construction management courses
the first 8 students graduated from the 4 year program with B.S. degrees
Hired the second full time tenure track faculty member
Received the first 5 year accreditation for the program from ACCE.
Formed the Department of Construction Management & Pre-Engineering
1988 Hired the third full time tenure track faculty member
Received the maximum 6 year reaccreditation from the ACCE
Moved the department to the new Engineering Technology Building
Received the AGC grant to help build the construction materials & methods lab
Became Chair of the department of Construction Management & Engineering
1994 Hired the fourth full time tenure track faculty member
Received the maximum 6 year reaccreditation from the ACCE
1997 Formed the separate Department of Construction Management in the new College of Engineering.
