Joseph Guarino

Dr. Joe Guarino received a B.S. degree in Geology in 1977 and in Geophysics in 1983, both from Boise State University. He completed his M.S. in Geological Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho, Moscow, in 1982 and 1990, respectively. Dr. Guarino began his teaching career in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Boise State University in 1991. He served as the Chair of the ME department from its inception in 1996 until the spring of 2001. Previous to his BSU teaching career, he had worked as a research engineer at Ford Motor Company, an instructor in the ME department at University of Idaho, and an engineering consultant and Vice-President of Bio-Sonics.

Dr. Guarino's research interests focus on vibrations, modal analysis, acoustics, and biomedical engineering.
