Rex Oxford

Rex Oxford is the Assistant Dean for Research and Infrastructure for the College of Engineering at Boise State University. Rex received his master’s degree in chemical engineering from Washington State University in 1987. Rex has worked as a research engineer for WSU and Battelle PNL, and has 13 years of manufacturing experience with Merix Corporation, a manufacturer of advanced printed circuit boards. At Merix, Rex held a variety of engineering and management responsibilities, and was the director of engineering for the corporation prior to moving to Boise.

Rex joined Boise State University in the fall of 2001. He has worked as a project manager on research projects, and has helped to grow and develop graduate programs in the College of Engineering. Rex has been a primary contributor to the successful development of proposals which seek funding for both research and program development activities. In the role of assistant dean, Rex will continue to help faculty identify possible funding sources for their research interest, and help develop research proposals. He will also aid in the identification of the necessary infrastructure resources – both facilities and computing – to enable successful research programs to develop and flourish in the College of Engineering.
