Patricia Pyke is the Director of Education Research for the College of Engineering. Her top priority is to advance engineering education programs and research by procuring grant funding, administering and assessing projects, publishing results, and empowering faculty and staff to participate in engineering education research. She oversees projects involving student success, K-12 outreach, mentoring and women's programs. Pat fervently believes that we must inspire, nurture and believe in our students because from them will come the next generation of great new ideas that will change our world, as the invention of the transistor, the printing press, and the polio vaccine changed lives in previous generations.
Pat earned a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley. Her career has included broadcast journalism, public relations, community activism, and freelance writing, in addition to manufacturing and marketing engineering. Pat has enjoyed working at Boise State University since 2000.
