- Bring your non-perishable food stuffs between Monday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 14
- Present your donated goods to staff in ENGR 240 to claim your raffle ticket(s)
- Be present for the drawing (to be held near ENGR 101) at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 14
Lots of great prizes are up for grabs, including a $25 cash gift card and a $50 grand prize, plus a number of other goodies, including a traditional wash book from J's Ultimate Car Wash, a $25 gift certificate to Fork Restaurant, a $20 gift certificate for Boise Fry Company, a Gig's Music Store gift card, and a punch card with soup cookbook (value of $35) from Archie's Place.

- 10.6 million pounds of food were distributed through the Idaho Foodbank in the 2011 fiscal year. This is equates to 8.8 million meals for those who need it the most.
- The Idaho Foodbank Partner Network provides free emergency food assistance more than 100,000 times each month.
- The latest data from Feeding America shows that 235,970 (1 in 6) Idahoans do not know where their next meal is coming from. Nearly half (95,150) are children, which means 1 out of 4 kids in Idaho aren’t sure when they’ll get their next meal.
- 5.39% of Idaho seniors 60 years and older are at risk of hunger. This makes Idaho the 25th worst state for senior hunger in the nation (AARP Study).
- Since 2008 food distribution has increased at the Idaho Foodbank by 93%.
- Since its creation in 1984, the Idaho Foodbank has distributed more than 100 million pounds of free emergency food through a partner network comprised of food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, and direct service programs.
- The Foodbank operates on a mere 7% assuring that public support goes directly to programs and acquisition and distribution of food.
Suggested Food Items for Donation:
- Fruits and Vegetables: Canned vegetables, fruit, tomatoes, canned or bottled fruit juice, tomato sauce
- Grains: Whole grain crackers, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, flour, rice
- Protein: Peanut Butter, dried beans and peas, canned meats, dried meats, tuna
- Miscellaneous Food Stuffs: Vegetable oil or shortening, instant and canned soup, chili or stew, condiments, sugar
- Shelf-Stable Milk: Non-Fat dry milk, canned evaporated milk, dehydrated milk, instant breakfast
- Tips: We can only use unopened items and items within two years of their expiration date. Focus on nutritious foods.
