Admissions Process for the ECE Doctoral Program
There are two stages to the admissions process:
A. Admission to the Graduate College;
B. Admission to the doctoral program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
A complete application consists of the following items:
A. Mail to Boise State University Graduate Admissions Office, 1910 University Drive, Boise ID 83725-1110:
- The graduate admissions application form and the one-time, non-refundable $55 application fee. Go to http://www.boisestate.edu/gradcoll/0001.html.
- Official transcripts from all universities attended.
- Recent GRE (graduate record exam) scores (verbal, analytical, and quantitative, taken within the last five years). This requirement is waived for Boise State graduates.
- Recent TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) scores for foreign student applicants are required. The College of Engineering requires a graduate student have a minimum TOEFL test score of 587 on the paper-based test, 240 on the computer-based test, or 95 on the Internet-based test. For the IELTS exam, the College of Engineering requires a graduate student have a minimum OBS score of 6.5.
B. Mail to Doctoral Program Coordinator, Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, 1910 University Drive, Boise ID 83725-2075:
- A two-page statement of teaching and research interests.
- Three letters of recommendation (Boise State graduates need only submit the names of three references from BSU).
- The graduate assistantship application form at http://www.boisestate.edu/gradcoll/forms/form_grad_assistantship26.pdf.
