Active Learning In Mathematics (ALM) is a program dedicated to improving student success in key mathematics classes through deeper understanding of mathematics principles.  Based on the Supplemental Instruction model, ALM sessions are lead by facilitators who are upper division students who have had these math classes.

In ALM sessions, students work together to solve pertinent math problems that are applications-oriented. The active participation of student in the solution process (through discussion and presentation) are is proven to be very effective in bringing about  deeper understanding of the subject matter.
