Kestrel is a resource for campus researchers. Please be conscious of your usage of the system. Develop an understanding of the performance and scalability of the software that you use. Some jobs may not experience significant speed increases when resources are doubled.
Storage space is limited. Move large data files to some other system. Kestrel is not a data archive.
Kestrel is NOT a supercomputing center architecture. It cannot provide uninterrupted operation, due to non-redundant cooling and power capabilities.
Acknowledging NSF Support
If you have used Kestrel in your research and are in the process of publishing a paper, you must acknowledge the NSF grant as follows:
“This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. (1229709)”
When published, please email the citation to Dr. Inanc Senocak (SENOCAK@pitt.edu), the cluster’s original System Architect, MRI Principal Investigator, and the primary contact for this grant.
A list of publications will be included in annual reports to the NSF. A significant amount of publications will assist Boise State to secure additional cyber infrastructure grants in the future.
