Building an Innovation Studio

Building an Innovation Studio

As Boise State’s ME program looks at the needs of our community and industry partners, we’re investing in the tools that will make our students ready for the workplace!

Two years ago we began work on an expansion of our Innovation Studio with an eye to skill-building and access to technology for all of our students. To date, we have tripled the size of the space, adding equipment that will allow students to bring products from idea to prototype to final project.

Our next phase will remove the existing wind tunnel from the main floor, opening up additional floor space for equipment and collaboration work.

The goal is to purchase a new, moveable wind tunnel with a smaller footprint but increased capabilities. Overall, we aim to provide our students the best available tools to apply the learning from classrooms in creative and tangible ways to gain the skills they’ll need for a career in 21st century engineering fields.

“The only way you can teach engineering is to practice engineering.
To DO it.”

Dr. Charles Ruch, past Boise State President
