Mechanical Engineering Program Mission:
To provide an accessible, high quality, nationally recognized Mechanical Engineering program that prepares students for productive careers, graduate study, and lifelong learning, and to advance knowledge in Mechanical Engineering through participation in research and professional activities..
Mechanical Engineering Program Vision:
The Boise State Univerisity Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering department balances undergraduate teaching, research and graduate studies to emphasize teaching. Our class size will remain small with a low student to faculty ratio. We will prepare our students for satisfying engineering careers and develop a sense of commitment to life-long learning in all our students.
Our program is characterized by continuous improvement in the areas deemed essential to the educational experience. We seek to continually improve department and college facilities in order to provide educational and research services to the people and industry in the Treasure Valley. We will cultivate an atmosphere of collegiality and respect for our students, our colleagues, and our communities. We will accommodate non-traditional students, minority students, returning students, and traditional students and attract and retain a diverse faculty and student body.
We put forth the following educational objectives. These statements define the skills, knowledge and performance we expect of our graduates as they begin their careers. Further, we specify a series of program outcomes. These outcomes describe skills and competencies that we can assess in our students as they carry out their education at Boise State.
