Safety

COEN Safety Committee

Mission Statement (draft):

The mission of the COEN Safety Committee is to provide practical guidance and infrastructure to promote the culture of safety across the College of Engineering.

Who We Are

The COEN Safety Committee is able to draw upon the dedication and diversity of its members. While all are focused on improving safety here in COEN, we have different backgrounds and responsibilities. Many committee members are also research and/or teaching professors, and have a solid understanding of lab “best practices” and the processes needed to make those practices a reality. Others work direcltly in Boise State’s EH&S department and bring with them expertise in lab safety or chemical waste issues. Thus, the committee has a great working knowlege of what areas need attention, what solutions are workable and how to work together in the creation or refinement of appropriate safety initiatives.
