Carol Sevier joined the College of Engineering in January 2005 as an adjunct professor teaching ENGR 120. Her current role as the freshman engineering coordinator includes managing all aspects of the ENGR 120 course including coordinating staffing and refining and enhancing course content. She also offers students limited advising assistance.During the spring 2009 semester, Carol introduced service learning projects into a portion of the ENGR 120 labs. These projects, with an emphasis on adaptive technology projects for people with disabilities, provide students with compelling, real-world experience with the engineering design process. Additionally, they provide a service for the clients in solving unique accessibility problems, introduce students to community service, and lastly, help students become more understanding of and compassionate toward people with disabilities.
Carol received her BS in electrical engineering from South Dakota State University in 1987. She was employed at Hewlett Packard for 16 years and held a variety of positions in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Marketing. Prior to joining Boise State, Carol served as the Development Director at the Discovery Center of Idaho for 1 ½ years
