Computer Science Principles via Music 2017

Join us for a three-day workshop for high school students and teachers to experience “big ideas” in Computer Science. Attendees will gain hands-on experience with the creation of music using CS Principles during interactive activities and on projects. No prior experience in computer science is required.

Participants will learn:

  • The seven Big Ideas in Computer Science and the five Computational Thinking Practices
  • How to setup and use EarSketch to build and run applications
  • How to develop music using EarSketch
  • How to apply the Computer Science Principles to develop or analyze music

Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops. Computers will be available if you do not have or wish to bring a laptop. Participants must bring headphones for the music portion of the workshop.
